The California Arts Council and California Advocates for the Arts held their two-day conference in Sacramento, on March 4, 5, where they delivered a broad range of significant information and inspiriation to arts administrators and advocates. Seen among the dedicated representatives of Santa Clara County were TAMARA ALVARADO, representing 1stAct, ERIN CIZAN with California Lawyers for the Arts, SVAC, JOSH RUSSELL of the Silicon Vallery Arts Council, MARIA DE LA ROSA of Mexican Heritiage Corporation, MICHAEL MARTIN, San Jose Arts Commissioner, LYNN STEWART from the Palo Alto Cultural Center, and JESSICA TORRES of the Silicon Valley Arts Council. The assembly was treated to a brief address by a charming and amusing Governor ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGER seemed genuinely embarrassed when a slide show of his paintings appeared on the screen behind him.
