Art instructor needed to teach a comic book themed digital arts class to middle school and high school aged students, Monday afternoons in summer 2011.  Applicant should have a strong digital arts background with prior experience teaching art to middle school-age or teenage students.  Must have in-depth experience with Adobe Photoshop; familiarity with comic books, video game design, or concept design a plus. Program runs for 6 weeks beginning July 11 and ending August 15. Classes are held at the Community School of Music and Arts, which is located in Mountain View, off San Antonio Ave. Compensation is $39.60 per hour for 1.5 hours per class, which includes teaching time and any prep time, for a total of $59.40 per class.  Class description is as follows:

Character & Creature Design Lab, Grades 6-12

Create your own comics, illustrations & gaming characters, & take them to the next level in CSMA’s new digital lab. Use Adobe Photoshop to create professional looking images as you learn the concepts and skills needed to build fun, exciting characters by sketching digital illustrations directly into the computer. No computer art experience necessary, but basic computer skills a must. Max: 10 students
