The Print Center at the ICA offers something to suit all creative interests and ability levels. If you are new to printmaking and artmaking, our small workshop sizes create the ideal environment for experimentation and immediate creative gratification!
If you have experience, our instructors are among the finest working artists in the Bay Area – come collaborate in our studio and investigate new techniques. All 2010 workshops have been discounted 10%! Please call or email to sign up. And bring a friend or two!


Spring Workshop Schedule

Trace Monotype: May 8 & 9, 10am-5pm, $270. Instructor: Jenny Robinson. All ability levels. This weekend workshop focuses on the beauty of the drawn line combined with the spontaneity of the multiple drop monotype and chine colle.

Monotype: May 15 & 16, 10am-5pm, $270. Instructor: Livia Stein. All ability levels.
A hands-on “no fear” drawing and painting approach working with the premise that in monotype anything goes!

Portrait Drawing: May 22 & 29, 10:30am-5pm, $250. Instructor: Christine Canepa. All ability levels.
Even if you have never drawn the human face you will learn how to get a likeness and more in only 2 days!

Expressive Drawing: June 5 & 12, 10:30am-5pm
, $250. Instructor: Christine Canepa. All ability levels.
With an emphasis on individual development, artists will work on projects to bring out their innate drawing sensibility as well as the opportunity to prepare drawings for print processes.

Monotype: The Portrait and the Figure: June 26 & 27, 10am-5pm, $270. Instructor: Andy Muonio. All ability levels.
A great follow-up to Portrait Drawing! Use the expressive and painterly techniques of monotype to create unique prints that capture the human form.
