Harlem Quartet &
Cypress String Quartet
complete this season’s
Villa Chamber Music Series

The Spring season of Montalvo’s Villa Chamber Music Series comes to a close next week with the Harlem Quartet on Friday, April 23, and the Cypress String Quartet on Sunday, April 25.

Dedicated to education, community engagement, and superb classical performance, the Harlem Quartet (pictured)
is an innovative and daring all-Black and Latino string quartet whose mission is to advance diversity in classical music.

The Cypress String Quartet returns to Montalvo with its unique concert format: Rather than a traditional classical chamber music concert of three works with an intermission, the Cypress features one work that the group discusses in depth and performs.

Tickets for each performance are $30, $25 for members (Join here!), or $10 with a Student ID.

Visit the Villa Chamber Music Series at our website for more information.

Final Fridays with Violet Juno

The Lucas Artists Residency Program continues its popular Final Fridays series with artist Violet Juno, premiering her new performance piece entitled (I am Still Here) Language Has Left the Building.

Juno’s new performance explores the intriguing dynamic between language and language(less)ness including her experience with idioglossia or twin language. This multi-sensory piece combines unusual props, movement, flamboyant costumes, soundscapes, and a three-dimensional form of cognitive mapping.

SPECIAL NOTE: You can see Violet Juno at our Arts Splash Open House event on April 17! She will be presenting a special performance with students from Downtown College Prep at 1:45 in Studio 61.

Admission to both events is free!
