Perla, written by Leonard Madrid and directed by Elisa Marina Alvarado, is Leonard’s magical tale which follows Perla as she stalls an impending marriage to roam her dreamscapes in an effort to find and save her long-lost father – a renowned womanizer and Norte√±o singer. Winner of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Latino Playwright Award, Perla explores the power of the subconscious to resolve inner turmoil impenetrable to the waking mind and move us forward to meet our lives.
